Welcome to our Saint James School Alumni page! Our goal is to be able to re-connect our alumni to each other and our school. We have found that most of our alumni have fond memories of their time here at Saint James.
Saint James Catholic School opened in 1906 under the direction of the Sisters of Perpetual Adoration. They opened an Academy for boys and girls. It was a small rural school with two classes. In early 1923, the Sisters of Perpetual Adoration closed the school and returned to their Motherhouse.
The Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (IHM) reopened the school on September 17, 1923. Under the leadership of Mother Josepha Clarke, the IHM Sisters began teaching 92 students at the school. In addition, they began their heroic mission of catechizing all of the children in Northern Virginia.
Today our parish school has grown to over 450+ students and includes preschool and kindergarten. We are blessed to still have many students who are second, third, and even fourth-generation families!

We will be hosting a Saint James School Alumni Reception on Thursday, October 23, 2025, from 6:45pm-8:15pm.

2024 Saint James School Alumni Reception
Our Principal Sister Kathryn Teresa Clemmer, IHM, Assistant Principal Melissa Manaker, PTO representatives, and Parish/School Development Director Kathleen Anderson welcomed our school alumni to our Second Annual Alumni Reception.
Our alumni enjoyed catching up and sharing memories with each other. Our student tour guides did an excellent job of showing our alumni our school with its many updates. It was wonderful to hear our alumni share their memories with our students on the tours.
